Heater hoses

On an AC car how are the heater hoses connected to the water pump connectors?  Been so long since I hooked it up I forgot, tried to search for pictures but the ones I found were hard to view since the hoses get buried under the AC hoses on that side of the motor.  I currently have the AC condenser, and hoses removed and do not plan on putting them on in the near term, I know that one hose used to exit out of one of the water pump holes (has a pipe looking connector coming out the top of the water pump) and ran to the right most firewall connection, then the ac connection to the left looped in a U shape to the heater core right side (from engine bay perspective) and the left hose to the heater core came back to the water pump.  But which water pump pushes the water out  and which is the return line?

Is there a way to seal a leak in the heater core without pulling the entire box apart?  It would dribble out and drip into the right floorwell which is why I originally disconnected it, was never a bad leak, but I rarely used the heater so just bypassed it to keep the interior dry.  It probably rusted shut in the last 20 years of non use.

That works, but how about another question, the heater hoses that come out of the water pump, what keeps them away from the belts? with the ac compressor installed and two belts, the most forward hose is very close to the rear belt.  The hose bracket on the fender holds them somewhat, but there isn't much clearance.  Probably not an issue, can always shorten the hose.

I don't have a picture handy - but from what I remember they are behind the belts.......I need to find a pic. In the meantime - there should be plenty of AC equipped member Chargers on this site....maybe they can provide a pic or two before I find mine. Have a look at Dave's Challenger - should be pretty much the same for a Charger   http://www.moparaction.com/Article/PoP/PoP.html

I saw that in the photo, and that is exactly what I need, to keep the hose from touching the belt.  Now I get to scrounge through my parts bin and see if I have one somewhere, not sure if I do or not.  I know that I've seen one somewhere, but if I can find it is going to be fun to look for.

Also the last pic shows what looks like clamps or metal bands holding the heater hoses to the AC hose, which would also keep the hoses from moving around.

They're metal straps.  I don't run the little shield because my setup uses a modern compressor so I have more belt clearance.  The straps do keep all of it nice and secure.   :yesnod:
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I've got wire braided hoses so they almost touch the belts now, so I need to hold them back a little.  have a new electrical issue to deal with, so will search when I can.
