I thought it was an older FJ40. It isn't.

I don't believe I've ever seen one before, a 1967 Nissan Patrol.

Very heavy duty 4by4, formerly Japanese Military.

Ghoste

Pics?  (I haven't heard of it either btw)

These are the only pics I took Ghoste.  I'd heard of them, but I'd never seen one before (except maybe in a Godzilla movie).  Kinda neat.

Some info about the original Patrol line of vehicles:
Introduced in Japan in 1950, the Nissan Patrol was released in its first form–the 4W70 Carrier model. Based on the Dodge M37, the Nissan model used the same chassis as the Dodge, but powered by a 75 HP 3.7L Nissan NAK engine borrowed from the brand's 290 bus.

Probably the best part of it for me was seeing something I'd never seen before.  I've known the owner for several years and had no idea he was into stuff like this. He tells me parts are made from unobtainium, coming mostly from Australia(!).  This one came from northern Colorado and was/is mostly rust free and complete, but it still took him several years to complete it.  He hasn't shown it, but I told him my response to it wouldn't be uncommon and that he should. Always fun to see something different.

I rode in one while camping in the Blue Mountains in Australia back in 1971.  For whatever reason it was memorable.
