73/74 is the same body style with very few differences. 73 Has vents in the hood, 74's don't. (see pic on post #9)

Obviously the commercial stars two Carolina Panthers NFL players in QB Jake Delhomme #17 (thus the #17 on the Charger) and WR Steve Smith #89. Jake played for Carolina between 2003 -2009. And this YouTube video was uploaded in 2007. So it has nothing to do with the current status of the conferate flag. I know that you were probably just poking fun but I thought I would clarify it lol.

If you'll look down to the #7 YouTube reply you'll see that some claims it's a 1969 Charger after some prior claiming it was a '73 or '74

I live in Flemington NJ, where we used to have the Flemingtion Speedway.  I remember faintly of one or two cars like that at the track.  The owner was Mr Kuhl, he was a big chicken farmer, or maybe chicken farming supplier.  I don't remember them being Chargers but the head and tail are simular if not the same.
