Do you want to disconnect the battery for maintenance/storage or as an emergency disconnect?

Hey John, want to kill power to car if running can it be done with the stock wiring??

As long as the alternator output wire is connected to the engine side of the shutoff switch the engine will continue to run even with the shutoff switch off. The alternator wire has to be moved to the battery side of the shutoff switch either with long wire runs or with a solenoid switch.
