to some on here, just keep bashing the south, you can stay up north!!!!!!!!!!    :slap:
No one is trying to bash any one but there is a difference of opinion of what each believes is real in there case. I lived down south for several years as i said before and had to move back here because of how we were treated, and i didn't even know what a Yankee or rebel was at the time. Guess i didn't move to hazzard!

I'm beginning to wonder if this horseshit is going to affect the desireability of a 69 Charger whether it's a GL or not....   :-\

There are also people from the north that can't seem to see the souths point of view as well.

And I'm from the north.

What I find ironic is that from what I've read the , families of the people who were killed by a psyco( not a flag) have forgiven the killer in the Christian way they've been brought up. For some reason a lot of other people seem to need it to be the flags fault instead of the person.

No.  I blame Dylann Roof.

And, he's the only one that should get blamed.  The rest of the world shouldn't have to suffer because of his idiotic actions.

I believe the biggest issue about the flag problem is how it is perceived by the south and just about everyone else. The south sees it as a heritage/pride item and most other people see it as a hate and raciest symbol. Its kind of funny who 2 different set of people can see it totally different. The flag its self is not the problem but how people see it is. The only thing that i can see that is causing the biggest issue is that its hard for people from the south to see it as history has recorded it.. or should i say how many people that are not from the south see it . At any rate pulling the dukes of hazzard or banning the general lee is just people over reacting for sure!

I'm actually thinking of adding one. What to you think? LOL.

I like this idea,
Maybe you can start a movement to get Charger owners to put there state flags on there cars to represent the state they live in.

I think your on to something.

As I stated well back at the beginning of this thread that I am originally from the North but live and will continue to live here in the South. My point is I NEVER saw the confederate flag as a symbol of hate or anything else other than it was from the South and felt it was a pretty damn cool flag . Yes the KKK has given it a bad name for sure but those people are all f@cked in the head anyway so they don't count as far as I am concerned.

The best way to express our individual opinion on this is to counter the misdirected hype with not giving even an inch. This is a principal that has real value.

WB's decision is a perfect example of a financial decision for the -now- mentality some have of things.   Clearly it's a reaction made for a perceived image in the short run. --Their was a meeting and this topic was discussed. :D  --This decision is not different than what started this ball rolling.

The beginning of this was from an incident that was shocking.  Human nature want's to back the clock up a bit and say it didn't  happen. The next best thing is to identify the cause immediately and stamp on it. Rational thinking is not part of this situation when we are talking about large groups. (whatever their persuasion is).

Is it not telling that gun sales go up every time the threat of limiting them comes up on the news?

This is the public--you and me reacting in one of the few ways we can. :nana:

Those that may want to restrict the use of an old symbol to make them feel good about doing something productive for the whole are instead exposing themselves as simple minded sheep. They need to grow a spine of their own and start making a real contribution to things that affect all of us.

We are all on this small world.(disc for some :icon_smile_wink:)

If the sheep need to see something that will get their attention?  Let's plaster this landscape in the Confederate flag to show the absurdity of it all.

Sadly they may think it is an uprising with intent to stamp out feeblemindedness. :shruggy:  --Not so politically correct---They may lose their parking spot. :eek2:

How were you treated poorly? maybe I missed it and will go back and look.  Part of the charm of the south was/is hospitality, openness, friendly to neighbors and new transplants.  The people that don't seem to fit are the ones that don't try to fit in, stay apart from neighbors.  When I moved here in the 70s it was an easy transition, when I served my time in the usaf up north, I missed having friendly neighbors, finding friends wasn't hard but the home front was more isolationist, when I got out choosing the south was an easy choice for us.  I spent more than half my life living out of the south, even if I was born there I didn't stay there long till after childhood was pretty much over.  Weekend time here in Florida is time spent with neighbors, the neighbors across the street from me are from upper New York and never come out, guess its a personality thing.  We've known every neighbor on the street since we moved in, holidays mean block parties, 4th of July normally means we try to blow up everything within range.  If left to our own devices long enough we'd probably blow ourselves up doing something childish but too dangerous for children to attempt.

Whatever offends me I'm not allowed to voice, whatever I DON'T agree with now means I'm racist.  Funny, always tried to live color blind growing up, but if I value my ancestors sacrifices, I'm a racist.  If I display their flag on private ground, I am perceived to be racist, if I watch old movies of the south, I'm racist, and now if I drive a 69 charger, I'm racist all because somewhere, there is someone that doesn't agree with our choices.  Quite frankly if you don't live in the south, fix your own neighborhoods first before you start trying to fix mine.  If you poll people nationwide, of course you'll get a majority that don't like the flag for one reason or another, half of the states fought against the south, of course they are against it.  At least 20% of the current southern population is made up of Northern people that have moved south, so they tend to agree with the majority, thankfully they tend to congregate in large metro areas and leave the land to the rest of us.  Then add the younger generation who doesn't get taught our history, so don't have a chance to understand who should be offended and who shouldn't and why, but they'll say whatever their "friends" on facebook or twitter say, or they'd lose their followers.  We may be a dying breed, but at least let us die off before they pave over our past and tell us our new past.

I will say this.  If for some reason it (the flag) was to be voted on, the voting should only take place in the south and only southern residents should vote.   I'm not a southerner or from the south therefore my opinion doesn't count.  I don't live there and I have no right to tell them what's right in their communities.

If you are referring to my post I live in Ct and was born here when i was 10 i moved to Mississippi gulf coast, When we 1st got there right away we were called Yankees my 1st replay was i didn't play base ball not knowing what a Yankee or rebel even was ,we were set up by neighbors a few time for theft and notes left on our doors to leave and harassed in many ways it got to the point that we ended up leaving and moving back north in time because of it . I'm sure its not that way today but at that time they hatted blacks and northers the same and yes there were what i took as KKK riding around with this same battle flag riding around also causing hate and discontent . I dont hold it against them they didn't know better and only know what they were taught.
