Well here we go again. Every time some people are killed we get this stuff. But it wont fly. This was in the news today.

The irony of the gun control debate is that when it seems tighter gun control policy is coming, sales spike.

"[W]e experienced strong consumer demand for our firearm products following a new administration taking office in Washington, D.C. in 2009," said the management of gunmaker Smith & Wesson.

That's when President Barack Obama moved into the White House.

That should sum it up.

Better not try for the guns, the media has everybody scared. And scared people go out and buy guns.
entia non sunt multiplicanda praeter necessitatem

Mike DC

Yeah, it happens the day after every election that goes blue.

I understand the concern but the buying frenzy seems silly to me.  Whatever they're gonna ban, we will see it coming for months before it happens.

What bothers me is that the public doesn't grasp the per-capita fequency of these rare events, only the total frequency.  If the population of the country goes up 25% and the number of mass shooting deaths goes up 25% along with it . . . shootings are newsworthy events and increased births are not.  It only registers with people that deaths are increasing.  The public ends up with a flawed perception that things are getting worse.

if they got their way and the public at large was gun free, this crap would happen more often.

think about it, it was a church, here in SC that is on the list you are not allowed to carry in, unless you have written permission from somebody in charge. this coward knew that their wouldnt be guns in there, that is why it happened where it did.

Too bad not any of those people in the church were lawbreakers cause the story could have been a little different, we all knew women who carried before concealed carry permits. now i know the pastor was in our state legislature and voted against conceal carry laws in the past, but if one of those lady's had had one on her, could have been different

Give more insane clowns the right to bear arms...

Did you note that the whacko also had a bomb? If deprived of firearms, his kind could use bombs made from readily available materials (think Boston Marathon bombers) and take out the whole congregation instead of a handful.

Gun control isn't the answer...population control is.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Evil people do evil things. The method they choose is irrelevant. You cant blame food for making people fat any more than you can blame the crashed car for the death of the passenger. If there were no knives does that mean isis could not cut peoples heads off? What is already happening, from day one of this tragedy, blaming the 2nd amendment rights of legal and lawful gun owners is a political ploy pure and simple. Never the less, some will use this tragedy for political gain.

We need to look to the root of the problem, this individual, Roof, is insane, capable of murder. He should not have been allowed to own a pocket knife let alone a fire arm. We already have plenty of laws for people like him. How do we deal with that?

if some "wako" run through a mall and killed a heap of people with a chainsaw would all these do-gooders be calling for chainsaws to be banned  :scratchchin:
