727 kick down servo pin?

Had a leaky trans pan.  Took it to my mechanic, who said he couldn't seal the pan because of the gasket surface was not flat anymore and he couldn't get it flat enough , to seal all the way.  So I ordered a new pan.  He also mentioned that the kick down servo pin was leaking and could fix it when he puts the new pan on.

Exactly where is this PIN and how could he tell it was leaking.  Also, what does it do?
Thanks

The end of the kickdown band lever pin is behind a pipe plug inside the bellhousing.

More likely he's referring to the rear band lever pin; the pin is sealed with an O ring and is a common source of leaks, the end of the pin is exposed just in front of the tailhousing.

Just talk with mechanic.  Said he had to remove tail piece to get at what was leaking.
That make sense?

Another question.  The o-ring for that.  Can I just get an o-ring at the hardware or do I have to pay the price and get the overhaul kit, to get that o-ring.
Thanks

The O ring dimensions are .625" OD X .062" thick
