watched  gone in 60 seconds yesterday ,looking for mopars in the background ,i have it on video but havn't watched it for about 20 years, you guys probably know this all ready as i did from the first time i watched the video  about the -red/orange 69 charger R/T? with a black top and stripe. you see the roof  and back end . also the  maroon / dark bronze 68 charger  you see the front right side then the rear left side . but yesterday , i saw   a second 68 charger red/ orange  with primer on the left quarter never noticed it before .it is on screen for a second after the garbage truck crushes the sublime 72-73 ? charger. any one  seen that one.  the amount of mopars in the film is you see by freeze framing when they drive along the street  is amazing

Yeah, there's lots of them.  Tons of Mopar police vehicles.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

That yellow Mustang they used (just ONE car) was actually reinforced all over the place under the skin.  To prep the car, they tore the whole thing down to just the loadbearing unibody (including removing the roof skin & quarters), and put a major hidden rollcage into it.  The car can still run & drive today.

And didja know that Eleanor's violent light pole crash was a total accident in real life?  Toby hadn't ever intended to clip the front end of the Caddilac as he swerved towards the offramp.  He was pretty banged up but they just worked it into the script & kept right on shooting.

And ya know those in-car shots from Eleanor's front seat where he's swerving in & out of traffic?  A lot of that was REAL traffic.  Half the shooting in the movie was totally illegal.  They just figured out when the cops weren't likely to be checking and then went out & did it in public.

Yeah, it was one.

There were technically a couple of yellow "Eleanor" Mustangs in total (like when you count the shots of the other "clean" car he gets at the end).  But it was really only one '73 Mustang that did the entire chase/stunts & got all that body damage.  They just kept wrenching on it to keep it running.

Yeah, they sure murdered some cool Mopars too!  Particularly that red Challenger at the beginning.
But it was the times.  For every one Mopar wrecked on TV there were thousands more wrecked in real life in those days.

it supposedly launched off a light blue hood against   a car that rolled over , witch was next to a yellow -black top barracuda Gran coupe witch would have looked real nice before the crash ,you see it twice in the film at different times.

thats amazing stuff about Eeanor (MikeDC)  and you say it is still running today  cool! . " murdered some cool mopars ", you can say that again , just  spotting the mopars in background is as nearly as good as the film its self to me.
