That's what I was thinking.

Trans atlantic cable. I was the electrical foreman on the SSN 683 from 1987-91. We added a 100 foot section forward of the sail to the sub. All full of top secret stuff that allowed the sub to look for stuff on the ocean floor like Chinese missle parts that they fired into the ocean. They didn't fly missle parts into the ocean but missles that turned into parts when they hit. Among a lot of other stuff I still cant talk about even though the sub is decommissioned now. Those cables are laying all over different oceans.
