Were the repair issues ever resolved on this car?  :shruggy:   :popcrn:

Not sure. That is the big question.

When Matthias registered his car with the 70 Registry I realized which car it was and provided him with the links to the various threads on this site about the car. Wanted him to be aware of the history. I'm hoping this was disclosed when he bought it and that the damage was fully repaired or reflected in the price....none of my business really but would hate to see someone get burned. Seems pretty happy with the car so in the end that is what matters.

Was this car bought from these guys ?

If so they don't have a very good reputation in the UK !! ( or in the Netherlands )

I left a deposit on a Charger pending a visual inspection ( £3100 ) when i got there the car had a terrible paint job
and it was leaking engine / transmission fluid on the showroom floor. I asked for my deposit back and they said "no"
Over the phone the car was described as immaculate - I traveled from England to Holland to view the car.
I am now in the process of taking them to court to pursue my money.

I would perhaps do a little more research on the car and if it was damaged and Max Dorland didnt tell you I would
be paying them a visit with a lawyer.

( PS - Cant see any info about the damage on the advert )

Not the same car.

This statement would bury them if it was:  "never had any damages"

They sure have some nice Mopars.

A small block e body, doesn't get much better than that, imo.  Granted I like the '70 better, I really like this one.

Matthias-Germany

Hello to all of you 😃😃😃. First i want to say thank you for all the gratulations and compliments. I was very surprised of that and very happy. The registration and the first message wrote my college from my company because i'm so busy in the last time. Second think i want to say sorry that my english is not so good and i hope you understand what i write. Now some answer's. Yes i bought the car at pedal to the metal. The car that they want to sell in the moment is another sublime Charger. If you want to see my car you can find it at there homepage under sold cars. They write 69900. But that is not true. It was 65000.-€. Fred told me at the telefon that the car is a perfekt dailydriver, solid body nearly perfekt charger and so one. Then i make the wire. I trust them. When i fetched the car i didn't controll the car. It look's so good and he was so nice that i trust them. When i was at home i see many problem's. Now i told it to them by email. After that i get your hole Information about the car and know i am not so happy with it. It cost many 1000.-€ till i can drive normal with the car. But we will see how correct Fred's Charakter is now !!!  I will go there again and show him the thinks. And than we will see !  I don't want to give it back because it's very rare and i like it with his hole options color and so one. But i need some years to make the technik ok and after that i will sandblastet him and built him correct and in a perfect style. So i hope i make it correct and you can read my first news. Many Greeting to all my new Chargerfriend's. Matthias

Matthias - When i visited their showroom to view a car I was told the car had "Laser straight" panel work and perfect paint. I Agreed a deposit on the car providing it was as described. It was a 383 4bbl car and it was advertised for £31000 which is a lot of money for a non R/T car. I made a 12 hr boat crossing via Hull to Rotterdam and then drove another 5 hours to Fred's showroom ( 10% deposit paid btw )

On arriving there i instantly knew the car was not as described. The paintwork was terrible, you could see where the bondo had not been prepared and rubbed down properly and then painted over. It was like this all over the car. The trim inside was messy and you could tell it had been thrown together
without care and attention. I then got right under the car and checked the engine / transmission. He described on the advert it had been "freshly rebuilt".....it hadnt - and to top it off it was leaking oil quite badly.

I told his son ( Max Dorland ) i didnt like the car and wanted my deposit back. I was extremely mad with him for telling me all of the lies and dragging me on a 1000 mile + journey. He told me to F££K Off and then called the police to escort me off the premises.

When i got back to the UK they had withdrawn the advert and changed all the wording - extremely crafty and devious. Some unsuspecting
soul has now bought the car ( if they have really sold it ? ) and probably doesnt know what a junker they have bought.

I have emailed Fred over 400 times now - no reply / no refund. He is an untrustworthy person and a crook. I am now in the process of taking this to the european courts to claim my money back.

Personally Matthias i would speak to your lawyer as they are doing this to a lot of people i have found out.

So again guys we see that raping people for classic cars doen'nt only happen in the US. Its a global thing.....

As a side note : 65000 Euros is a sh*tload of money for a 2nd gen even over here, thats in the ballpark of $ 70,000.
For that money you should be able to buy a very I say VERY nice mint condition top dollar restored car. Not one that was smashed together up to the back window in a former life.

He could have been fair to potential buyers that the car had an accident. Even if it was restored like it should with all new metal, straightened on a jig and so on he would never be able to ask such a ridiculous amount of money for it.....

I hope you can sort the issues out and enjoy the car afterall....
Greetings from Belgium, the beer country

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Wow a lot of opinion's here.  I am sorry for anyone getting screwed.  But Mathias seems happy and that is a good thing.  :scratchchin:

raminduction, that isn't right.

Decades ago I found a burnt orange '70 Charger R/T down in Sacramento, Ca. @ Brocker's Beauties.  We're in Vancouver, Wa.

My wife, a buddy & I took a Monday & a chance for Tuesday off work for a trip to Ca.  I already had money in the account & was pre-approved for over twice the amount.
We started packing & I decided to call BB to let them know we were for sure coming.  They sold the car!

At the time it was just another nice hot rod I missed out on...until I seen it back for sale on their site.  The stories I ended up hearing was they liked selling to overseas buyers.  I'm guessing I foiled their plan since I wasn't an unsuspecting foreigner they could prey on.

I don't understand the poll.  :shruggy:
It was his first post here so he probably didn't mean to create a poll.

I looked at your car on the sold page. It's seems very suspicious that they seem to go out of there way not to show the very back of the car. They got plenty off extra room in pic to see lots of extra in front of the car but oddly the back has been cropped off & out of view? I wonder why? Something to hide :shruggy: :scratchchin: :shruggy: :slap:

Hi, the 2 picture's send they to me when the car arrived in NL. Ich ask them to sent me some pic's and they do it. When i arrived there it was the first time that i see the car from behind. They make the pic's on the parkingplace. Behind the car is a wall. The car looks ok from behind. The 71 Tips i will change in the next time to the original endtips. I want to make the car nearly to the original buildsheet. The endtips are not expensive and easy to change. Not realy a problem. Matthias

Wasn't it swapped over to a 4 gear as well?

I always thought all $'s matched so I sure hope that 727 made it across the pond.   :shruggy:

Matthias-Germany

Yes, it´s very importend !!! I think only with the original automatic gearbox is it a matching number car. Fred Dorland promise me, that the gearbox is ordered by him and he know the guy, who built the car in a 4 gearbox. And that the previous owner of the 4 gearbox and the owner from the car exhange it. I had pay for it and now i must wait, because it comes with a container. He said at the end of august it will be here.
