Cleaning coolant spills underhood

More like a coolant storm.  I had a leak develop in a thermostat housing and it came out at high pressure on the highway which pretty much made the engine bay a coolant bath zone.  What is the best product to use for cleaning that crap up?  Just good old water?

Clean it up as fast as you can.   It can etch paint.

I have used Totally Awesome or Simply Awesome (yellow bottle of cleaner available at the dollar store) with success.

I had this happen on the Superbird coming back from a 100 mile trip a couple years ago.   Man, that coolant blowing all over really makes a mess.

Yeah, it leaves that funny yellow-white film and is difficult to clean. Depending on where it is, hose it down perhaps.  I have had to use something with a mild detergent in it in the past myself.

I did the thermostat on my fiance's SRT Jeep on the weekend. Just simple hot water from the hose worked good at cleaning it off.

The problem is when it gets on there and dries.
