I have read from various sellers that, they are claiming to have r/t doors for their '68-'69 charger! Is there a difference between a '68-'69 r/t and base model door?To my knowledge there is no such a thing like on the '70 r/t with scoops on it and base model just like the '68-'69s.I know the lock button's location is differnet but that's it,isn't it?!

Honeywood hemi

That's all no difference unless it has a Hemi badge and even then it's just a door will holes to fill .

cavemanno1

I knew about the hemi badges but the door itself is the same!I guess some sellers just don't know what they talk about or trying to sell their cars a bit better!

Ghoste

Doors are the same.  Even the 70 RT with the RT scoop on the door still has the same door, just as the aforementioned Hemi badge the only difference are the holes drilled to hold the scoop on.

Alaskan_TA

RT side doors are different than LT side doors.  ;)

jaak

R/T makes no difference, but 68 & 69 doors are different.

Saying that about the 68-69 Charger base door vs R/T door for a sales tactic would be equivalent to advertising that this certain 68-70 Charger comes with a Rallye gauge cluster :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol:

Funny enough but i have read from a few sellers, mostly on ebay, that the car comes with r/t doors!
Here is one for example!

"OK the parts that go along with the 68 R/T and the parts car are as follows:

Back of roof/sail panel
Green drivers side fender
Blue deck lid
Black Hood
Black deck lid
blue passenger side fender
tan drivers side fender
1 set of r/t doors(one red) (one green)
New repopped lower front valance,
new end caps
new gas tank
Repopped replacement quarters, not full."

BLK 68 R/T

I seem to remember reading somewhere that you could get a stripped down base charger without the upper door pads??? It may have been only a 70 thing, I don't recall. But this would definitely qualify as different since there would be a no holes for attaching the pad to. maybe it was a western sport special car or something along those lines. I think it was in a magazine that I saw it actually.

Your talking 1970 XH base chargers. They also did not come with the usual rear finish panel.

Yes  :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol: on the R/T doors for a 68 listing.

Meanwhile, that listing seemed to end up as a good deal with getting two 68 Chargers for 13k with one of them being a R/T numbers matching.

I question the "Barn Find" aspect of it :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol:

lock buttons are in different locations if I remember

ACUDANUT

All true, but all 68-70 doors are the same (outside)

Ghoste

And above all, there is no such thing as an RT door.

How about a big block door?  :pity:

Ghoste

Yes, but it is hard to tell them from the smallblock doors unless you have the special Govier door decoder.  (Hemi doors are easy because the hinges go through the center)
