I was looking at a 69 RT on ebay cause I want to buy one but this car has a colunm shifter, is that normal for these cars

myk

Normal as in were some of them built that way from the factory?  The answer is yes...

blinkey

 Is that a good thing???????

Ghoste

More of them were built with column shift than without.  Now how many still exist that way is a different question altogether, and it is neither a good thing nor a bad thing.

Pat1973charger

My 69 rt was a column shift originally with buckets and a buddu seat instead of console. Im thinking it'll be 4speed when done with a console.

That's up to you.  What do you want in the Charger that you buy?  Or does it even matter?  When I was Charger shopping I didn't give it a thought, but now I'm glad I bought a console equipped car.  Choose your version and go from there.

Post a link to the auction?

Looks like a fun builder to me!

Ya thats the car. I liked it til I just noticed it was colum shift.  Do you guys think that car is a good deal at 11000.00? cause I have no idea I just started looking. For me 11000 is 13,500 plus shipping 2500 Canadian,,,,our dollar sucks. So for me to buy that car and get it in my driveway   16,000,,,Oh sorry plus tax 13% :smilielol:

Add $25,000 in metal work and $15,000 for body work and paint...

blinkey

:flame: your right, I might just leave it patina,,,its cheaper

Ghoste

You'd be better off to spend more money on a nicer car.  If you can't, you can't and my hat is off to all the people who take on the projects because they keep the pool filled but you have to know what you're getting into.
What part of Canada are you in?

Stop watching those car shows on TV.  :slap:

"Patina" just means it looks like shit.

Besides, when a car is as rusty as the car in that auction...

It will probably have structural issues.  :Twocents:

blinkey

So you would say its over priced? :2thumbs:

Ghoste

It's hard to say when you can't see it in person.  Always err on the side of caution and assume every e-bay seller is a scam artist.  It's good to be able to picture the finished product in your mind but look for the lie in the ad, imagine he's trying to rip you off.

 Hello & welcome

looks a good project  ,  :yesnod:  too much already IMO  :Twocents:

VegasCharger

Hello and welcome

Well it's gonna go for more than $11,000 due to the "Reserve" not met. Plus there are 20 active bids on it as of this reply so I'm sure it will get bumped even higher with two days to go.

The nice thing about it, it's a complete running true 1969 Charger R/T numbers matching with no mods. However total sheet metal overhaul is in order. But worth it due to it's badging.

Big project to take on but it can be done.

Good luck on your search.

So you would say its over priced? :2thumbs:

If you enjoy this sort of thing and can do all the work yourself, you might come out alright on this one.

If it doesn't go much higher.

But...

I'm guessing you don't have a fully equipped shop, and all the tools and equipment to work with.

How much experience do you have rebuilding a unibody car from the ground up ?

Do you have every evening and weekend to spend working on it for a few YEARS ?  :shruggy:

if you can do all the work your self just pay for parts , & you don't mind loosing a few years of your life ,  :coolgleamA:    if your  going to pay someone skilled to do it  , going to get expencive really quickly to do a good factory appearing job  :Twocents:
