Sorry guys to both you but I have a question. Is there a company that actually remakes the seats for a 69 charger or am I out of luck and actually have to find used ones. Mine came with 70 bucket seats ( they were replaced by the previous owner) I hate the 70 seats even though I was told they are more comfortable then the 69 ones.

As far as I know, nobody is repoping original looking seats.

No one reproducing seat frames yet.  Tracks, foam and covers yes but no frames or springs.  However there was a guy on the forum last week who was asking if he should throw his seats away because he was restomodding his car and didn't see a use for them.  I forget the thread but it would be great if you were able to find an arrangement.  ;)

Just to confirm, the original low-back buckets are only valued for stock appearance.  They are worse than the later ones for comfort, and they are weak enough to be unsafe in a hard wreck.

But for many of us still preferable!! :2thumbs:

Yep, I've got sturdy seats, airbags, abs and other safety features in my daily driver.
For my CLASSIC car I prefer the looks and feel of CLASSIC seats.

The good news is the 70 seats are worth some cash, so you shouldn't have any trouble selling them to fund 69 seats if those are what you want.

Yep, another win!  Somebody out there is restoring a 70 shell and needs seats.

I wouldn't shop for seats online. I bought 3 sets, one set completely rotted inside, the others half rotted. Unless you are buying frames stripped of all material, it is impossible to determine the condition in pictures. Sellers tend not to be upfront about the condition inside. So it is a gamble.

I got new foams and covers, and stripped and painted the seat tracks (6 way drivers) and the old seats look and feel like new...old seats.  You can get new seat tracks if willing to pay for them.   Sometimes you gotta deal online, unless you like paying premium prices, just be careful not to get totally rotted junk seats.

Also keep in mind which seats you would need to be buying, there are the low back buckets with or without headrests, my early build 69 (sept 68) had low back seats with no headrests.  I always liked headrest seats better but originality won out for me.  Headrests were optional for part of 69, think they became standard half way through the model year.

Just find solid seat frames. You can add or subtract headrests to suit. There is no difference between the two styles of frames. Just added hardware that is easy to find as it was used on other seats as well.

Thanks guys for the info! If you guys do hear about someone trying to sell/get rid of 69 seat don't be shy to pass my name around.
