Guilty pleasure or skeletons in the closet

QuoteThere's just something about the GM cars of that era that makes them work so well aesthetically as lowriders.

Well, I'm glad couple of you guys finally came out of the low rider closet with me. I was starting feel like the guy who introduces himself at an AA meeting only to find out its a church social.

I wouldn't mind owning a 1976 Mustang Cobra II  white w/blue stripes(for the style,not the power) , 1969-1973 VW beetle , and 1985-1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer .

My guilty pleasure is driving my wife's '64 Vette.   It's just a nice cruisin car, 300hp with auto transmission and air conditioning.

I've always like Triumph Spitfires. Not an embarrassing car (unless it's broken down) but not something that would fit in with the rest of my muscle cars. Little roadsters are fun on back roads! Spent a good deal of time in an MG when I was young but the Spitfire looks better. I also like the early RX-7s. The mid 80s Regal too - but I'm not sure I'd actually pay for one these days. As I get older I've figured out that a lot of my dream cars looked good but weren't worth anything when it came to reliability.

My real guilty pleasure would be a Kenworth long nose semi. When I was a kid I wanted to be a truck driver (dad and I spent a lot of time on road trips) and I built countless models. I think that once I figured out it was actual work I changed my mind. But I still love the trucks!

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Love the Turbo Buick's..  :drool5:  and even their twin brother the Monte Carlo SS.  :2thumbs:  Paul, your car is so minty fresh!  :drool5:

Have a soft spot for middle 80s IROC Camaros and 67 Chevelle Malibu convertibles as I have fond memories of driving around in my moms.   :coolgleamA:

Have considered buying a early to late 70s C3 vette too.  :leaving:

Also would love to have an Austin Martin.. DBS if I have the cash or even a old DB5.   :o

ha, this is a fun thread idea. My guilty pleasure is that I am also a fan of subies. Imagine most MOPAR or no car guys and domestic fans wouldn't be pleased with me but I like muscle and imports for different reasons.

I love my Charger for its burbly V8, how many heads I turn driving in it, and just the joy of cruising in an old muscle car (I mean duh, I think we can all agree it's the best looking muscle car :coolgleamA:)

I love my Subie (saabaru) for the horizontal4/unequal length headers signature subie rumble, turbo spooling acceleration and noise, and how crazy well it handles lowered and with AWD.

Heck, I even like lowered lesbian-mobiles, the older gen Foresters.

I've always wanted one of these - 71 or 72 in black please.

I need enough property so I can have my own rifle range and room to drive one of these for fun and chores

Oh, and also at minimum of one Charger from every generation.

The Corvette Summer car:
Wow, that takes the cake.  That has to be the first time I've ever heard anyone with a positive reaction to that car.

Make that two people that think it's so gaudy and over the top that it's actually cool

Agreed  I think the right hand drive actually cinches the deal on the car's appeal, the idea of building a replica has crossed my mind many times

did you know the right hand drive conversion was done with two sprockets and a chain to relocate the steering

I'd love to have a Ford Escort RS1600 or a Lancia Delta Integrale.
