Hey all!

I need help...what is the best ignition set up for my 1966 Hemi?
Does anyone run MSD 8.5mm wires and MSD ignition?

thanks!!

My Hemi runs with the whole MSD 6A package, 8.5 wires, Pro Billet distributor, and Blaster coil.  Works perfectly every time, like it should.  There's probably 1/2 million of these out there, time proven.

There are lots of fans of the Firecore also, they'll weigh I'm sure.

The FireCore ready to run distributor is very nice and extremely easy to install. Timing adjustments are infinite and the distributor looks much closer to stock....if that's a consideration. The Firecore distributor is available with a stock style tan cap while the MSD only comes with a male post HEI cap. The RTR distributor also has vacuum advance while the MSD does not.

The RTR uses a constant 12V power feed to provide increased spark energy to the ingnition system improving power and performance. Power wise it is comparable to an MSD 6 series box without all the external wiring and control box.

The FireCore wires also look stock yet perform like a true race wire with 50 ohm/ft resistance. MSD wires don't look stock so again it's a difference that may or may not matter to you.

Pricing on the FireCore stuff is much better and worth considering.  ;)

I've sold lots of the Firecore stuff over the last several years with excellent results. There are a few RTR distributors out there on 600hp street hemi stroker builds that have been running great for a few years now.  :2thumbs:
