Good evening,

The question is:  Was the 2.71:1 ratio sure grip available in the 489 case?
I'm looking for highway gears and I like this ratio for the set up I'm using. (stock 440 with 727)

Thanks
Curt

Right now I have a 3:91 sure grip, I'm looking for 2:71 gears to install in my case, but I don't know if ma mopar offered that gear in a 489 case. If it was offered, were would be a good place to start looking for gear sets.

Ask Dr. Diff, he seems to know about those things.  If he doesn't then maybe he can point you in the right direction.

2.76 was the lowest numeric ratio offered in any 8 3/4".
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks for the link. I didn't know what options I have. That's why you ask questions.

Thanks

Going to 2.71 from 3.91 is a HUGE change.  I would say try 3.23's first.  Any Mopar friends in your area you could "borrow" a set of gears from?
Mopar forever!
