Mopar wins the day!

Saturday May 16.  Jackson, California.  Sweet little Sierra Nevada town put on a great show today.  They closed off their entire Gold Rush era downtown, turned it over to 200 top quality cars, several live bands, lots of beer and wine tasting, and arts and crafts for the ladies.

But damn this is Chevy country around here.  Fools.  With a few decent Mustangs thrown in.  Mopars are so hard to find.  There were even more Studebakers (4) and Willys (3) than Plymouth (2) and Dodge (2).

So the winners:  my buddy Rich and his "Viper Bee" '68 Coronet took Best of Show.  My '68 Road Runner took Best of the 60s.  Yeah baby.

I am so pleased that amongst a sea of Chevy Chevy Chevy (about 150) and Ford (30) that two true Mopars rocked the place.  Rich's Viper Bee has a transplanted V10, and fantastic suspension work done.  Trophies were a cool little piston.

Yes that's the nose of a '57 Plymouth peeking out in the picture.  But it has a crate 350 so it no longer counts as Mopar.

68's takes the cakes!

Ahh, the sledgehammer like subtlety of two ground pounding Mopars in a sea of samenessville Chevys...

Good work Dan, pleased for you

Yes, there is a certain "dinosaur" feeling of completeness to the Viper Bee and my Triassic Hemi Rex stomping on crate camaros and chevelles on their home turf.

For the record - there were many spectacular Brand Xers, it's just that the sameness is mind numbing.  The crowds flock to our dinosaurs, like my Hemi, any Mopar, the Studebakers, the Willys, and the littlest dino Nash Metro.  We offer a museum visit compared to the chevy-mart monotony and predictability.

But we all know that.  :icon_smile_cool:
