If this was a r/t how much would it be?

I'm after a r/t 4 speed but this one got me tempted! There are hardly any 4 speed '68s come up for sale so is this worth the asking price?I still think prices are crazy again for these cars but knowing there are not many left,is it worth 18k?

If it was an r/t in the exact condition how much would it be worth?2-3 months ago there was a '68 r/t numbers maching engine rebuilt, trans converted to 4 speed but 727 still available, for 20k.Needed some minor bodywork, interior and paint!Sadly the seller back off saying he will get her fixed even tho she has been sitting for 8 years!
So if i compare them this one is a bit too much!Would i be wrong to assume that 13-15k is fair? But i guess people still pay 18k for this!

if he means subframe as in the rails?  that be a major killer......for 18k you can maybe better, but to me its a 15k car max.

hey it runs and drives with 4 speed.

He doesn't say if it's rot or just surface rust.Guess it comes down to how bad you want a '68 4 speed car and your funds. With AMD the frame rails are doable and these 4 speed cars are just not for sale at all!

In the 2 + years I looked for a Charger there were quite a few 4spds for sale. I was after a 4 speed for a long time but typically they were well above what I thought was a reasonable price for a 4spd car. The ones that were in the sweet spot were just too far away for me to be a buyer because they were bought by someone local in a few days to a week. The good deals rarely lasted 24hrs as I was in the listings every evening after dinner. My wife though I was nuts. I can't count how many cars I was first to call on but someone else was there and that was that.

Your in a worse situation than I as you are off continent so not only are you not close to anything your probably going to be the last buyer a seller is going to deal with because it's more work for them.  The cars you see are the ones that are overpriced for what they are because that's the ones that sit long enough for you to even get a shot at them.

I'm not saying you will not find one, but what I am saying is that I think your in for a long and arduous battle. I even had some helpful members that were looking in their respective neighborhoods for me. I think they just wanted me to stop posting about looking.  :P  But they were immensely helpful to me in the long run. In the end I loosened up my requirements and found a car that was 4hs from me within 6 months. I still think about the ones that got away though.  :-\

That 68 looks too clean to need frame rails.
Its rare and desirable so its less about the price and more about the car itself.
It sounds like a solid 15k car and the extra 3 k padding is either the 4 sp tax or negotiation room.

Thanks for your input,i didn't know how difficult it is for me till you pointed out
I have been looking at ads for the last few months and saw only two 4 speed '68 chargers under 20k!
I'll keep looking and eventually something will turn up!

Well, my point was more that 4spd cars are out there so you might want to increase your budget, settle in for a multi year search, or relax your must have option list.   :2thumbs:  Good luck.

Frame repair?

Has anyone seen any VIN and/or fender tag info?

six-tee-nine

Rear valence corners have been bondo'd up at some point.

The lower part of the quarters is definatly gonna look worse once you strip the paint. Needs new rockers too.

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

The other side looks like it needs it.
