Tranny side cover gaskets and belhousing bolt question

Hello,

I have a 73 charger with original a833 4 speed manual. My side cover is leaking fluid (mainly from where the levera go in). Do i need to drop transmission to fix that?
Also, my bottom left bolt seems stripped (it will go in but wont tighten). Do i need to remove the transmission or is there a trick to fix this? Like putting extra lock washers to keep it from coming out.

I have limitted cabalities and limitted time on my hands. I was quoted at least $600 by a local shop to fix this. I was looking at something more economical.

Any advice?

Anyone? My one bolt keeps coming loose (though it does tighten), i think i need to put a lock washer on it. But any advice on the other bolt? Any way to use seize lock or whatever?? I was just qouted today $600 to fix the hole and replace side cover gaskets....
