Has anyone tried this yet? Everytime i open the trunk to fill the cell, i always think about cutting the filler neck and modifying it to attach to the top of the cell. It wouldnt be very difficult, other then the actuall attachment point on the cell. But even that shouldnt be too hard to fabricate. Summit sells a replacement top that they call a "fast fill" nec that is a 2 1/2" tube on a 45' angle. That would make coupling a breeze.Anybody done it? Or thought about it?

Cheaper to just get a new stock tank?

Ive run the cell for 16 years now. For my purposes, the cell stays. I have no issues or complaints with filling the cell in the trunk, i just thought it would be unique/different tieing the origonal filler neck into the cell instead of leaving it as a rummy unit.

That's a great idea, I say go for it...

Sounds easy enough, go for it.  Can you use the same design on a cell by using a rubber grommet and sliding the neck in?
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Summit sells a fuel cell top ring that has a 45' bent tube on it. I figure that will give me just about all i would need to put a rubber coupler in to join the neck to the filler neck after i cut the neck to angle it towards the cell instead of down through the floor.
