Hello everyone. I have a question on installing a roller cam. I am in the process of installing one and have a question regarding wear plates. I have a thrust button to install on the front of the cam but have also seen wear plates advertised for big block mopar engines as well. Do I need a wear plate as well as the thrust button? if so where is it installed?

Thanks for any help on this.

You can buy a timing chain and gearset, that comes with a "torrington" type flat bearing on the rear of the cam gear to handle the rearward thrust.

It is sold by Cloyes under part # 9-3125A, with the added benefit of being fully adjustable for degree'ing the cam in.
