I did a quick look on --cars.com--  counted 109 hellcat challengers waiting for buyers. :shruggy:
The highest price listed was $131,740 but most were listed at msrp.  I suspect that the msrp ones would have sold by now if that was a real price.
It's encouraging to see so many waiting to be sold. :2thumbs:

After 9 months on order...................... :icon_smile_big:

Mytur Binsdirti

Congrats!!!! Mine is scheduled to be built next week........after 10 months of waiting.    :brickwall:

maxwellwedge

This one was 2 months after getting my VIN. It is a lot of car for the money.....love it!
Good luck!

Mytur Binsdirti

I got my VIN 2 weeks ago yesterday & couldn't believe that it was getting built so quickly. I wonder if it had something to do with the 3 emails i sent to Tim K, the most recent being 3 days before I got my VIN?

maxwellwedge

You are going to love it Mark.....it does everything well.....and man does it go. I wish the redline was 1000 rpm higher....just want to wring it out a little longer because the thing is still pulling hard. It has a shift light you can program....a good feature. It took me a couple of days to figure out how to completely shut the traction control off....after that, the thing lights 'em up with ease .......if you want to smoke your neighbor out.

A friend got his 2 weeks after getting the VIN call. His was that silver/gray color.....if that has any bearing on schedules.

PS - I got mine for a few grand below sticker.....the dealer is still scratching his head over how that happened.

Very cool car!   :yesnod:

Maybe we'll get together at one point this summer with some of the other local guys.

Here is part of the w-sticker...those are CDN $'s.

I think some of the standard and optional stuff is different between the US and Cdn models.

Mytur Binsdirti

Man you guys get hosed! Mine prices out like this...

Base price:                      $58,295.00
Laguna leather seats          $1,795.00
Navigation                            $695.00
Brass Monkey wheels             $395.00
Performance tires                  $395.00
Gas Guzzler tax                  $1,700.00
Destination                           $995.00

Total:                              $64,270.00

No charge for B5 blue paint and no charge for the 6 speed manual transmission

70 sublime

Maybe the Canadian price is better than the US price

Canadain dollar = .81 US dollar right now

Canada car  at $74240 X .81  = $60134
US car  at $64270 / .81  = $79345
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

They didn't have the Laguna seats or Brass Monkey's available to us when I ordered. I did order "Premium Leather" at the time....I guess that changed to what I got. Actually - when you do the exchange rate (x .80-ish)...we come out a tiny bit better. Where we get killed is our tax...it's called HST and adds another 13% to everything.  :o  So if you take the $74,240.00, add the 13% it works out to $83,891.00 out the door. I was all in for 76k....so I did pretty good. Three of us (all friends) ordered them together through the same dealer. One got offered 18k above what he paid.....but turned it down.

Mytur Binsdirti

Well, we do get hosed on our gas guzzler tax, but I wonder why they are charging you a grand for the manual transmission? Here, the manual trans is N/C and auto adds almost 2 grand.  :shruggy:

I know of the GST (Gouge & Screw Tax), but what is the HST?

maxwellwedge

It is a combo of Fed (GST) and State (Province -PST) tax. I think 8% + 5%. We get so bent-over here tax-wise.

Yeah - I wondered why the auto was std equipment and the stick was more for us....I guess the bean-counters figure out what Americans usually order vs the Canadians and use the statistics to make even more money from us both.

Regardless of all that - you will absolutely love the kitty when you get it......they are a lot of car for the money.

Mytur Binsdirti

I'm sure that I will. Everyone I've talked to says that they are a great car. Of course, many who are reading this think of you and I as................

Mytur Binsdirti

I'll be picking it up the day after I get back from Carlisle.     :2thumbs:

That's not fair!!!!       :icon_smile_angry:

Get this......I was playing with the "Performance Timers" and decided to try a 0-60. Not used to getting a good launch yet....but clicked off a 4.5 and then kept accelerating....because it felt good.   The funny part.....I realized I should slow down so I let off and hit the brakes. I look at the read-out and it showed a 1/4 mile of 12.7 @ 87 MPH....lol. That was without trying to do a 1/4 mile and on the brakes. That would have killed 95% of the cars that were running around in my neighborhood - back in the day. Crazy

Ghoste

It'll kill 95% of them right now.

maxwellwedge

Good point!   Cant wait to try a full throttle 1/4!

A lot more than that. Apparently, there is no train to load the car on to. Each day, I now receive this email with the delivery date pushed up a day.....

"Your vehicle is scheduled to be loaded on a railcar in Buffalo today with estimated dealer delivery of  7/24

And tomorrow, there will be a new email with a new delivery date.

They were using it as a demonstrator at Carlisle. They'll deliver it after they install new tires.

They always wrap the " beaters " in the best colors for these events . Don't work though, that wrap work great to protect your paint from rubber and brake dust.
