Downed Star Destroyer and X Wing in the sand, 'Falcon aerobatic shots and a bunch of other things equal a win.  I'm optimistic about this movie...

:iagree:

I have not been inside a movie theater in over 20 years. I actually might break that string for this one. I think the downed Star Destroyer is badass  :yesnod:

Seeing Han Solo with gray hair seems weird, Chewbacca looks the same

I'll watch it expecting very little, but I do hope it's a winner!
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I think its a pretty neat idea to come back full circle "X-years later" with the actors of the first movie. If the writing is good, they could have a lot of fun with the script. For example, maybe Luke's landspeeder (much worse for wear) could be up on blocks behind the family homestead in the background of a shot?

We'll have to see what happens.  But the signs are good.

The director of #7 is the guy who did "Super 8" and the last couple of rebooted "Star Trek" movies.  They could do a lot worse.  Disney is pretty intent on not repeating George Lucas's mistakes.  They know everyone is sick of all the weak CGI & bad writing in the prequel movies.

The Mouse paid $4 billion (not million) dollars for the rights to SW.  They might cut corners on SW cartoon shows or toys or something, but they will want these 3 new movies to be good.    These are the "tentpole" shows of the whole franchise that everyone will remember.

Frankly, they would be idiotic to compromise these movies in ANY way over cost issues.  What, like a new SW movie is gonna lose money or something?  They could spend $500 million dollars on it and still make another $500 million in profit.
