I started a project a few weeks ago by turning my over/under refrigerator freezer in the garage into a Mopar themed kegerator.  I also added a motion sensor to the top that would light up an LED underneath the tap while you fill up.  Turned out really nice and I thought I'd share it with everyone on here.  Here's the refrigerator when I started.

here is one more.

here's a a few after drilling the holes and mounting the tap.

here's after cutting out the door to make room for the keg and the CO2

here are a couple more with the decals on.

The only other thing I may do is add another decal to the left side underneath the blue Mopar one.  I tried to keep this clean and all a Chrysler/Mopar themed kegerator.  Had a few neighbors over last night for some cold ones.  Cheers!

Thank you!  It's been a fun project. I have a few buddies already asking me to build them one.  :icon_smile_big:

I want one! Curious. What did it cost to build. Minus the fridge of course.  :shruggy:

Nice, could have set up a foot pedal with a Chistmas tree, pre stage, stage, for the glass then the tree drops, floor it & fill up the glass.  :2thumbs:.

Godsmack635

Haha!  Yes the foot pedal and Christmas tree would be awesome. I'm open to ideas on how to make that work. As far as cost went, minus the fridge, the kegerator kit which includes the keg coupler, lines, regulator and faucet with the standard tap was $150. The motion sensor and power supply and LED was another $25. The vinyl decals were around $100. I'm using the bigger CO2 tank which runs around $100 empty plus another $75 to fill it. The 1/2 barrel keg was $160 plus the $50 deposit.  The 1 1/8" drill bit was another $30. Adding this up it's around $650-$700 to build one.

That's pretty cool

There is no way I could have one of those in my house without suffering serious consequences!

I used to have 3 refrigerators in my kitchen(after my last divorce).. A side by side for food, to the left of it was an old fridge I turned into a keg fridge and to the left of that was another fridge I used for my can beer while the CO2 was working on my keg... Trust me, when you have a keg of beer around all the time, you HAVE friends that are more than willing to come help you drink it.

Another idea, get used Hurst B & E body shifters. Replace the handels on fridge with them.  :2thumbs:

Godsmack635

I was  looking on ebay for the pistol grip shifters for the mopars.  I wanted the wood grain authentic one but i saw the price and decided to go with the tap handle I'm using.  I ordered a keg of Mack & Jack's' African amber and a friend of mine had the tap handle.

Godsmack635

The first thing I looked at as far as tap handles went was the original wood grain pistol grip shifters I found on ebay.  They were around $180 or more if I remember.  Decided to go with the easier route which was a Mac & Jack's handle with a Mac & Jack's keg.  Maybe someday down the road if I come across one I'll do it!
