Its been discussed on here before, I typically don't enter my car in Car Shows.... just not my thing. I would rather go just to look around at other cars and check out swap meets. I have entered my car in a couple of shows when it comes to Charity fund raising. Well yesterday the at the local high school, they were having fund raiser for FFA, my band was playing there, and they were having a car show, so I thought what the heck, I'll enter it. It wasn't a whole lot of vehicles there, but they were some nice ones. I got a trophy for 'Best Overall', I know its just a local show, but I am proud of it.... gonna clean off a spot in my shop to display it.

You should be proud of that award. You and your car were singled out and recognized by your peers
for all your efforts and contributions towards perpetuating the preservation of these old cars we love.

The first time I won an award I was quite surprised. Wasn't that big of a selection in my class though. The award that really got me was getting what technically was "Best of Show" out of 300 or so cars if I remember correctly. It was called the "Earl Olsen Memorial" Trophy. It was a large trophy that stays with the club and each person's name is put onto a plaque on the trophy. You also get a smaller trophy to take home.

Awards like yours will have a special little place now with your car! Congrats!  :2thumbs:

Thanks guys... I am proud of it, I was just telling a friend the other day, I need to start putting it in shows because I want a trophy to put in my shop... just want one for all the hours, money, blood & sweat I have poured into this car over several years.

Now just don't get "trophy happy" and start putting it into shows just to win trophies. Happened to me  :slap:

Won 1st place best modified mopar (very first trophy, complete surprise), 2nd place best 1970-79 (expected to get 1st but lost to a woman owned 1978 Firebird), and Best of show (expected 1st place mopar and was upset I didn't get it until I got called for "best of show"). I made myself miss the next two shows because I found myself wanting/expecting to win.  :nana:
