A/C heater box questions

Hello.  Just got done replacing the heater core in my 69 charger with a/c.  I have two questions:

1. Does anyone know the size for the vacuum line which runs from the harness through the firewall?  The last two feet of mine is dried out beyond use, but all the rest of it is perfectly good so I was hoping that maybe I could splice a new section on using a coupler of some sort. 

2. How do you remove the windshield defrost hoses from the vent?

The hose going up to vent have a serration type clip, on one way , not made to come of easy.
need to spread the clip slightly , easily done with radio out of the way you can see them through there

Does anyone know the vacuum hose i.d.?  My guess is 1/8" but figured you guys would know better than me....
