Herding cattle??!!!  Thats a first.

 I couldn't even make that up!

He was BEYOND proud of it!

Every other person that walked up to the car would be asked "Hey! I bet you CAN'T guess what this car was used for when it was purchased".

By placing the mouse bait/poison in the car you are attracting them inside to feed. :Twocents:

Attracting what? None came inside to the poison in the car  :shruggy:

"Then I popped the hood. Instantly I had seen one of the packs of poison had been ripped into and about 8 mice droppings."

::)

What is your point? The mice never got INTO the car (interior). As for the mice that were there and died, there was no nesting or destruction because the poison killed them. If the poison hadn't of been there it would have been worse.

We stored someone's beater there for a winter. Their entire engine was a nest, wires chewed, and the interior was filled with mice. The owner was told to put poison pellets around, he did not.

My point is:

You put bait/poison in your car, and under the hood.

The reason mice eat the poison is because to them, it's food.

They are attracted to it.

Once they eat it, and their little mouse bellies start to ache,

They crawl away into little tiny places in your car to die.

Inside the cowl,

Inside the inner hood braces,

Inside the rocker panels,

Inside the air cleaner...

They love the exhaust system...

Lots of places to curl up and die in there.

Before they die, they shit, and they piss.

Mouse piss eats metal away.

FAST.

After they die, they stink.

You need to put moth balls in the car and under the hood.

The smell keeps them away, doesn't draw them closer to feed.

That is all.

That's my feeling on it too. :Twocents:

That is an urban myth. Same with Irish Spring Soap. It does shit. We've tried it. Lots. My grandmother even has a picture she took of a mouse nest that is lined with moth balls that they took.

Simple fact is there were less mice that were around my car with the poison than the car(s) that didn't have poison in them.

No mice made it into my interior either.

The balls on an average male moth are extremely small.   It would take literally thousands of moth balls to keep a car safe I would think.    :shruggy:

Oh man.  I would used it trapping fox when I was a kid.  Might work, but, I would rather have the mice.
