Repro six ways?

I see that PG Classics has a reproduction six way seat bracket for around the same money you see used originals at swap meets.  Has anyone here bought one or laid their hands on one?  Are they a piece of crap or a decent part?

Dino

I have not seen one but I have to say that I will lose my last bit of hope for decent repro parts if they can screw up a seat frame.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

never knew /or cant remember  , they were re-popping these   , been thinking about getting a oem  6 way frame for a while .

no offence to the repop part manufacturers , but  don't hold out much hope for the quality , given the quality of a lot of other parts  :icon_smile_blackeye:

I was thinking of being a guinea pig, but they're not available. I'm sure they'll be happy to take your money on a pre-order, though.

Turns out, the 1840-6T they had been advertising to fit a '70 B Body was for the '68s and '69s the whole time. I ordered one when they were on sale (and of course the moment my box got loaded on the truck, they lowered the price). The only issue was that it had the wrong spring for the fore and aft release that ties the two sides together. I just connected the two release tabs together with a piece from a wire hangar and it works fine. My car doesn't have an interior or steering wheel in it, but I mounted the seat on the new track and installed it temporarily. I don't think I'll have a problem finding a comfortable position.

Their catalog has been updated to reflect the proper fitment. The overall metal quality, such as the gauge and the forming are on par with my original standard tracks, but the painting was not complete. Nothing that can't be corrected, though. Considering how rare and expensive the originals are, it's a good buy.

My car 69 doesn't  have a 6-way so I have glossed past 6-way threads.  I'm kind of embarrassed to ask this, but, what does a six way do?  What is/are the extra functionality/adjustment.  Does the entire seat frame, including covers, have to be disassembled to convert to one or does it just replace standard brackets.

Dino

It replaces the standard brackets so it's a direct bolt in job.  Aside from going forward and backwards, you can also have the seat go up and down and tilt.

Can you get a six way for the passenger side as well?  :scratchchin:
1969 Charger 383/auto
1969 Charger R/T 440/auto (waiting to be restored)
1972 Chevelle SS clone 383 sbc
1959 Chevy Apache short bed stepside
1968 Charger (glorified parts car)
Yes, I know I have too many cars. My wife reminds me daily.

Whoever at Ma Mopar named it the 6-way must not have ever read Kama Sutra, because it actually has 16 separate positions, in addition to the normal fore and aft adjustment.

The frame adds quite a bit of weight to the seat, so I found it easier to remove the seat back, since that made it less bulky to move around in a limited space.

Good idea, but I've never seen one advertised. It wasn't an option originally.
