My 69 does not have wires going to the fender and quarter lights. The car does not have the light group so is this part of the option? It was listed as an export car so would no fender and quarter lights mean export cars did not come with operational lights>

Thanks

A 69 does not have side lights ,they have reflectors instead. :yesnod:

68 were lights, non reflector lenses.

69 were reflector lenses, no lights.

70 where like 69 BUT with lights. AS FAR I KNOW, bigger sidemarkers ( by a hair ) too, so not an straight interchange if wishing light and reflectors function on a 69 getting 70s. Can be wrong though

the hole for a 70 goes through the quarter, the 69 bolts to the quarter from the outside.

I liked the bullet hole with the chrome surround on a 68. The lights made them even better. I wonder why the 69's were reflectors. Seems like that is backwards regarding technology? :-\

Hi,

The Federal 108 safety standards in the late 60's allowed either side marker lights or reflectors. They were first required for the 68 model year and every car maker I can think of went with lights. In 69 Chrysler decided to save a few pennies and went with the reflectors, which I don't think were all that effective. The Feds closed the loophole by revising the 108 standard to require lights after 1969. So, that makes the reflectors a one year only thing on Mopars.

I made my 69 front reflectors light up with the 194 bulb...I'll post pics and a write up in another new thread
