2 speed or 3 speed?

I would check for power at the motor first.....

Has the car sat for some time since the last time they were used ?
If it has I think the first thing I would do is just give the wiper arm a pull to make sure it has not stuck some

They are a 2 speed and it has been about a year since they were used last. They definitely are not stuck as I checked  also there is no sound from the motor. :shruggy:

That I did not notice. I just thought,I wonder if it could be corrosion in one of the electrical connections.

check for power at the resistor when you turn wipers on....if you have power there, betting motor is shot

I would check that resistor that looks like a ballast resistor. Unplug the wires and put an ohm meter on it. If it is open, it is dead.

Dino

Mine started acting up last fall.  This year I turned them on to clean the windshield when getting the car out of storage.  It wiped twice and the blades stayed up, just like last year.  I got out and parked them manually but forgot to turn the wipers off so several minutes later they came back on again.  Scared the crap outta me!

I'm thinking the ballast resistor may be the culprit here as well.   :yesnod:
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Does the resistor only get used in the low speed setting ?
Try turning it to high to see if it works

You could open it up, check the inside parts, might be something binding, bad electrical contact, etc... By the way, I don't run a resistor on the 2 speed wiper motor.. you cant even find one any where today, no problems so far with out the resistor...

Dino,

You have a classic bad "park switch".   There is no data in the factory service manual for it but I thought I saw something on it online.  The motor test procedure for 3 speed units is to disconnect the bulkhead disconnect.  The green wire gets jumped to ground, the red and brown get jumpers to the battery.  The brown lead is connected last and disconnected first.  The motor should run constantly.  Step 2 is to jumper green to brown.  Red connects to ground.  A third jumper goes from battery pos to the blue lead.  The motor should run to the park position.  The FSM cautions about motor damage if the jumper tests are not done correctly.
Mopar forever!
