Thought you guys would like to know, my 68 Charger took Best Mopar in the mighty muscle class at the Del Mar Goodguys this last weekend. The judges told me had it been finished it would have been a contender for best of show.
I rolled in the gate at 6:35 Saturday morning, the judges came to the car at 9am to inform me that I had won. They mentioned that they chose the car as the winner as soon as they saw it rolling in. They said in their opinion it was the best muscle car there.
One up for the Chargers guys, it got way more attention than any of the other brands.

It's always funny to look at these kinds of pics and see all the Camaro's and Mustang's lined up and only a couple of Mopars.

That's the way it's always been for Mopar representation.

In any case, congratulations OP.  I had wanted to hit the Good Guy's auto cross event but my car wasn't finished either.  Maybe next year I'll see you both there.  Do you participate in any other shows/cruises in San Diego?  There's Cruisin Grand this Friday...

hollywood1336

Yea, this picture was taken at 7am, there were about 8 mopars in the lot. By 9am there were about 25 in the mighty muscle lot, which based on past years is a lot.

Congrats! Great car and well deserved!

Looks like a beautiful morning in Southern California and your Charger is definitely a standout.  Congrats to you!

MYK, I usually hit the Cajon cruise night on Wednesdays. I will be at the Trueline show in El Cajon this Sunday as well.

"An aggressive exterior with power to match was enough to pull in the performance boys-especially when abetted by a pair of pipes blaring out the back, and brawny red-sidewall rubber hitting the pavement."

Congrats on your win and your beautiful Charger.  My GM buddy had one of his cars there and he sent me a picture of a F5 Green 69 Super Bee that won for Musclecar of the Year finalist.  It sounds like a MOPAR SWEEP!!!

I visit the Cajon cruise when I can; hopefully I'll see you there sometime.  What time is Trueline, and what's the theme?

hollywood1336

Trueline starts at 8, don't know the theme as I have never been before and it didn't say in the flyer. Planning on getting there at 7 as they say get there early.

Hey thedodgeboys, the badge on the fender says SRT10, 2001 Viper GTS V10 motor with Tremec 6 speed.

And that's gotta be a kick in the pants.  I made a believer out of a buddy when I told him the wife's SRT10 would give my purple Charger a run for it's money.  Still not used to the sound.

I hope you weren't too surprised since your hot rod is an all around knock out.   :2thumbs:

hollywood1336

The color is 2011 Dodge Challenger "Green with Envy", color code PGE.
I was surprised when they showed up at 9am to inform me that i had won as cars were still arriving.
Chargers always have a big impact at car shows, they always get huge attention. There were two others in the buildings which also got lots of attention.
It's also funny how many people say they don't like green but the color looks perfect on the car.

Camaro's and Stang's where a dime a dozen in the late 70's early 80's and still are. My sister had a Mach 1 and my buddy's had Camaro's.
Good show hollywood1336 .
