Rear window reveal moulding clips

The depth from the roof to the pinch weld flange is deeper than it is from the Dutchman panel to the pinch weld flange on the bottom. On the bottom, similar to the sides and top of the windshield, the clips are pretty much at the same height as the panel. Do I put the clips so the top is just below the roof skin, and use thicker adhesive bead to compensate at the top of the rear window?  Thanks

I should have worded different. Does the reveal moulding sit down slightly from the top of the roof. The answer is yes.
