What about the 'oh shit' that might happen if he needs to brake real fast.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

QuoteIt just depends. But if I'm ripping through corners, on and off the gas and brakes hard, I tend to drive with both feet, and both eyes wide open.

I agree with this, except when things get hairy the eyes are closed.

If things get so hairy that your eyes are closed, you are in deep $hit!  ;)   Been there a couple times a long time ago.  :yesnod:

In a real sphincter oscillating situation, he's less likely to get confused about the proper foot to use. :Twocents:

JMO......training yourself to lift off the accelerator to brake just makes sense to me.  :yesnod:

Yep.

I learned to drive on a John Deere tractor. Pretty big trans housing separates the clutch and brake pedals......so.....difficult to get confused.  :yesnod:

Good thing too.......for me....confusion is a way of life. :coolgleamA:
