Guys, 

At certain throttle positions especially getting on the freeway I can feel the pedal surging under My foot.  Any ideas what the issue is.  I checked u joints trans mount and cables and springs on my carb.  No fix yet.

Are you running lean? Someone else may know, but my car had a surge on the highway and the issue was it was slightly lean.  You may still be in the idle circuit.  Maybe richen up the idle and see if it changes.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."? 

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us. 

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....
