Does the front frame rails and inner fenders off of a 70 Coronet fit a 68 Charger? Are they the same?

Troy

They should be the same. Pretty much all b-body cars from 68-70 used the same metal underneath. I'm sure there are some exceptions though so hopefully someone will point them out.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

8WHEELER

I would think they should be the same.

Thanks for the answers you all gave me.

no they would not nesscecaraly be the same

They're stamped from the same tooling so they should work.  Any 2-door B-body from 68-70 that's not a Hemi or a convertible has basically the same structural stuff on the underside.  And on certain parts, the interchangeability can sometimes go even farther out from there (1966-67 cars, 4-doors, etc.).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you're just building a driver then you're totally fine swapping a 1970 Coronet's front end stuff onto a Charger.
If you're after a 100% stock resto, then you might find some minor holes & brackets that need adding/removing to making things look perfect.

Keep in mind that there were different radiator supports for different optional drivetrains.  The hole had to get bigger for some cars.

The frame rails should be the same, but the inner fenders(will fit)but are slightly different where the front fenders bolt up to the inner fenders up near the radiator support. the 68 fenders have three bolts that attach the fender to the inner fender, and the 70 fenders bolt to the front of the radiator support, and not the inner fender. The plate that holds the adjustable hood bumpers on each side will have to be retained from the 68,because these are part of the fender on the 70.

Thanks for all your help guys.

No I dont, I got 4 sets of those already. But thanks anyway. If you would happen to have some grille pieces, I'm looking for to repair the grilles I have.
