Furious 7 portrayed the charger well...

There was the 4x4 version dropped from the plane, the supercharged 70 in Dom's garage, and then Dom's 68 at the end. Maybe there were more, but they all looked good!

Sad movie, as we knew it was the last time we'd see the buster...

Well worth watching, IMO  :popcrn:  All published reviews seem to be favorable, too.

Do they destroy any of the Chargers? (comments on a 4X4 version aside)

Mike DC

I've heard the '70 Charger (non-4x4 version) meets an ugly end again this time.  The writers have decided the Charger is going to die every time it appears, that much is clear.

They also killed at least one of the copper '70 Plymouths.

Mopar in general was WELL represented in the movie.  If you have the chance to see it in an IMAX theatre do it!  Well worth the price of admission.

They did an excellent tribute to Paul Walker at the end as well..... RIP

Glad to hear such good things!  :2thumbs:

Looking forward to it.

theres a restored black 70 in a garage scene, the maximus? 68 charger is used at the end, the 4x4 gets killed, and so does the supercharged 70 i think, but it looked cgi to me  :shruggy:

myk

Just like the last time the '70 died in #4.  With CG there's no longer a need to destroy actual cars...

They filmed on a friends ranch 1 mile from my home. No Chargers with a vin # were destroyed. Most were tube framed vehicles w/o any drive train. One they launched 40' in the air via cable and alot of CGI done in the Universal trailers on site.

Pretty cool!

Let me clarify this post. The actors filmed on Pike's Peak but they could not go off road up there. They stunt teams (not actors) filmed for a month on my friends ranch. The film is at the theatre now and my friend and I have yet to go see it. I honestly can wait until its on Netflix  :popcrn:

From reading on IMDB I think they actually did drop the car's from two different airplanes but couldn't get the cars to land exactly where planned so the dropped the cars from about 6 feet in the air to the road they landed on. Still cool to know they did drop the cars from planes and they did alot of filming while they were on the way down that looked awesome!!!! May have been wikipedia where I read it.  :shruggy: Loved the movie!!!!  :yesnod: RIP Brian O Conner

:iagree: I cringed every time they wrecked a Mopar but none of it mattered at the end when I saw the tribute to Paul Walker...

I was geeked to finally see a '68 at the end.

Also (Mild Spoiler Alert) I thought it was very cool to see them cruising side by side in the 68 and the Supra, then Walker's Supra veers off and takes a different road - really symbolic and very tastefully done.  These movies are straight corn - but that part hit me right in the feels.

Watched it early this afternoon with a gearhead pal and my boys. I thought it was great entertainment and well done. The boys are interested in watching them all so that's going to be some good dad & sons time. Their were several elements of the actual film/filming that I thought were very cool. The wipes, city scapes, and things like the camera rolling 360* with the actor that rolled across the ground.

I'll echo hatersaurusrex's comments about the last scenes of the movie and my reaction to them. Walker's supra taking the exit grabbed me pretty good to. As much as I liked the move I left with a sadness.  My wife didn't go and can't watch the series any more, it makes her to sad.

I thought the movie was very well-made in the production & technical sense.  But I liked the previous director (Furious #3-6) better.  The cheese factor was kicked up a bit this time and it felt more like a generic big summer movie.

They sure are tipping their hat to the Mopar crowd lately.

owning a mopar right now is the, 'IN' thing.....chevy/fords are very unpopular......

Haven't seen it yet, but have read enough about it to spoil everything.
What I want to know is, will the appearance of Maximus triple the value of my '68?
[Is there an emoticon for tongue in cheek?]

I would say NO  :icon_smile_big: only because people don't know what it is to be honest....after 5 or 6 movies with the 2nd gen charger that DOM drives people STILL DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS!!!  What they do know is the new charger is in the movies.......people don't know the charger existed before the 4 door....lmao.

bull

So what's the deal with the finish on the 68? Stripped and clear coated?
