asked it in another thread and got no reply so how much extra is a desirable colour combo (red/black,blue/white  etc.) worth  as compared to a combo that isn't that popular  green /green , gold/green, orange /orange etc. .

not knocking those colours ,if that's your thing so be it    I've got a triple green 60 dodge   :eek2:

just wondering how much colour( including interior colour ) plays in a car selling or sitting  :scratchchin:

It's COLOR NOT COLOUR  :brickwall:    :nana:
I don't think it changes the value at all.  Just makes selling harder or longer with an unpopular COLOR combo.

for me would pay a little  more with in reason , to have a charger in the original  factory color combo , I wanted ,   :yesnod:  mine had to be a original  Y2 car  with black interior & top ! ok ok I know mine was a  tan top .  but  two out of three aint bad  :scratchchin:  sounds like a meatloaf song  ;) )  ,

so yes I would pay a a bit more  out of two identical  optioned chargers , if it had the color combo I wanted  :yesnod:

think its up to the individual  , I know its  not the answer you looking for  , well it kind of is ,   every one has their favourite colors on a charger  ;)

like PWB says not knocking any color combos , they all look awesome , & if I had the dough would have one in every color combo  :yesnod: :Twocents:

*** EDIT ****

For 1970 cars, people seem to pay more for original black & pink cars.

I know a 70 Panther Pink car or rarer 71 Panther Pink car will cost you much more then a green, or cream or brown one will. LEON.

It is true. Rare colors bring more money but it's also true that rare is why. And there is a reason why the panther pink color is rare.  :P

Someone looking for the car of their fantasy might pass on one of the wrong color/colour.  So what is the breakdown in color preference? I'm sure there has been a poll on this.

Ghoste

All true but black and "resale" red aren't exactly rare and they typically bring  premium too.

For many folks, these cars are a bucket list item. If they really want one, they will likely have a favorite color (colour?) combination.   Original colors are likely more desirable, but many cars have been repainted to make them more sale-able to folks who don't know or care about originality.  As to value....hard to really know, but if I had to guess it would be that the "high-impact" colors have the greatest overall appeal, then the more regular primary colors (black and/or red, then blue, yellow, white, etc.) and then the more muted blues, greens and tans, followed by the browns and maroons.  The total value of that difference in the range of colors could be substantial, like maybe $5 to $10K?  Anybody in the car business should know all about this question.

According to Hagerty regarding 1969 Charger's, color can make a huge difference in both "value and salability"

From the Hagerty valuation page.....
"For base cpe and 500 models: -20% for slant six. For base cpe, 500, and R/T: +15% for SE pkg. For all Chargers: +20% for 4-spd. -10% for auto. Colors can make an astonishing difference in both value and salability."

Colour is middle English and a little bit of French too!

Color is now more acceptable outside of the Old Country?
Borrowed from the latin word for color as in Colour(UK).

The love of Colo(u)r is in the beholder as is beauty and such like.
There is no doubt that color can derive purpose in a car or object...
Black can mean sinister or deathly, where white is virginal and marriage like.
Greens and Browns are earthy colors with Grandad style grocery getting.
Yellows are springlike where Red is Racey, but Blue is the best for me...

B5...B7...B3...PETTY BLUE and so on...

Which 500 in my avatar says RACE WINNER???
The white 500 won the 69 Talladega race, but being white it was demoted to second, behind a BLUE Daytona... :rotz:

I always pay x-tra for my nickname.
It has to be a factory FC7 car though.
Color changes are "no go" for me personally.

Color/colour definitely makes a difference in how much I'm willing to pay for any particular car. :Twocents:
