Hi I am wondeing if anyone has used the goodmark full quarters recently for a 69 charger? I wanted to go with AMD but I can buy goodmark full quarters less then the amd skins and I need full quarters. Wondeing what kind of issues they have as a search seems to only come up with 4-5 year old threads, and thinking they may have made adjustments to tooling since? Thanks

Pat, there are a few threads on here about the same thing.    I personally like AMD, as the Goodmarks didn't line up well.  The AMDs lined up 100% for me.   Others have said the opposite..

Not what you want to here I'm sure...

JUst an opinion but I would think if anything the Goodmark ones would have deteriorated from a tooling point of view.  Tooling is expensive and I can't see them selling enough of them to have retooled after four or five years.  :shruggy:

Actually the newer full quarters from Goodmark under the name of Golden
Lion(or something like that) are newer tooling. I haven't used them , but on eBay Tamraz sells them and even states right in the discription that the style line can be up to 2 inches off.

The amd quarters will need some tweaking here and there, but I've installed several sets now and would reccomend them.

Thanks for the input guys, not that I wasn't to cheap out on the resto but the fact that it could buy three goodmark quarters for what I can get two AMD for makes a guy wonder.

They were worth the money.   If you have a body guy doing the work, the extra time there will be for a bad panel might get you up to the cost of an AMD panel.   Like I said though, I've heard others say the Goodmarks are okay.  When I did my Coronet, they needed A LOT of work.

I had to replace both rear quarters on my Charger and, although some tweaking was needed to get them properly aligned, I would buy the AMD quarters again, no doubt!

The body work is free as I will do some and my father in law will do the finishing  but obviously the less the better.

Hey, Chevy guys love Goodmark, that should be enough right there no?

AMD all the way. We quite selling Goodmark due to their parts not being as nice as AMD's. That's in our humble opinion of course.  :Twocents:

I have experience here - I bought Goodmark quarters.   If you plan to install the full quarter, I'd say don't buy them. The crease at the rear shoulder is very rounded compared to the factory crease.  If I'd had to use the whole quarter I'd have been VERY disappointed.  I laid it over and sort of mocked it up the difference. The body line on the door was very sharp, but the Goodmark panel almost looked like it went on a different car.  So, instead of using the whole panel, I  cut that crease off and only used the bottom 2/3.

Seriously the difference is VERY visible.

Granted mine was for a '68, so the tooling might be worn or something, but that's my experience.

Thanks for the input , I think I'll try to get the AMD ones. What about tail panel, valances, outer wheel houses and front inner fenders in goodmark? Anyone use those?

I have a mixture of goodmark and amd full rails, floors, rockers and so on and it's hard to tell the difference. One rear rail had a amd sticker on its nether other had a goodmark and both look identical aside from being mirrored. I willoat likely use amd where ever is going to be seen, ie: quarters, fenders, door skins, tail panel and valances etc.

I used an AMD full quarter on my 72. While it was not perfect but it was damn near perfect! I'm considering a goodmark for the lower rear since I'm broke as hell and it would be better then fixing the old hack job from the last owner.
