Gold with a green interior, original 225 slant 6 with three on the tree, and manual steering and brakes.

Unfortunately, the price is also crazy.

"Selling a 72 dodge charger. This car is rust free and in great condition. Car was originally a slant 6 and 3 on tree. Motor and trans are gone but rest of car is totally original right down to the dodge hub caps. It had 50k original miles and shoes zero wear to pedals or interior. When you open trunk it looks just like day it left dealership jack and trunk mat still inplace even has a goodyear polyglass tire laying in there. Im asking $6500 for car how it sits but we can negotiate for me to add a newer small black with 727 and right k-frame out of a 71 satelite also have a set of rally guages.....if car doesnt sell soon price will go up as i will have that motor installed and car on the road."

It's got a '73 hood on it. :scope:

I wonder what other body panels have been changed. :scratchchin:

Rust free?  Showroom condition?  Totally misrepresented.  But if it were a second generation roller in the same condition would the price still be "crazy"?  I don't know much about the demand for 3rd gens, but if he was offered say 4K. Would that be more in line.....

I'm thinking /6, 3 on the column with manual steering and brakes is probably 1 of single digits or even unique.

Wow, that has to be a sales bank built car. Who, including a dealer would ever order something like that.

Although, If any one the east coast remember the Reedman dealership in PA. who would advertise ridiculously low prices on cars to get you into the showroom that would be their kind of car. 1972 Charger for only $2995. Of course no one would want the thing after seeing it and they could up sell you to something you might actually want to own.

That's a plausible explanation and it probably did happen. Does not explain gold on green through  :eek2:

Just because it's rare or unusual, doesn't always make it desirable...

Exactly!  It was the era of gold shag carpeting and avocado green appliances.  Those two colors were everywhere.

I can't think of a worse color combo on a Charger

Ghoste

Oh yeah, especially when you factor in some of the tri-tones with the vinyl top colors.  The green and gold isn't bad, just unusual looking today.
