I'm interested in hearing from those that have sold or bought cars internationally.
Tales of what they went through, what went wrong, and why.--- Shipping hoops to jump through.--- Safe money transactions etc.---

Surly this has been discussed before but maybe compiling stories and suggestions in one thread will make an easy place to find good current information for those either looking or selling.

I have no problem selling my car to anyone that wants to pay for it but selling to someone in another country adds a layer of complication VS selling to my neighbor for example.

I bought a '72 Dart earlier this year to just have fun with. I posted
my find on an abody forum, couple days later a guy in Germany contacted
me about buying it.
Short story.....we agreed on a price, he sent me an agreement to buy the car
he had signed. I signed it, sent it back and he wired the money to my bank.
I had sent him many pictures and a full description of the car before of course.
He made all the pick-up, shipping, export and customs arrangements.
I didn't have to do anything except sign the title when the shipper
arrived as well as provide a bill of sale. Done deal. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

This wasn't a high dollar car though.........under $10k.

I have bought a lot of Mopars in the US in the past 20+ years.
Payment is done by wiretransfer usually.
Make sure the payment is definetly in your account before you release the vehicle

Yep, give the buyer your iban number...wait till the money is in your account (pull it out of your account if you're afraid that the transaction can be reversed) and you're done.
