AC heater control switch

Classic Industries shows AC Heater control switch for 1969 to 1074 Mopars.
I have a 1968 Charger R/T.
They look the same

Are they the same??
Will it work??
The person I spoke to there said they didn't have one for a 1968.

Chrysler number you are looking for is 2820487. Same for A, B and C body in 68.
In 69 it went to 3431020 also superseded to 3895790.  
2587564 in 66/7 - those superseded to 2820487 then to 3895790.
So somewhere along the line Chrysler said these will work.  With some sort of mod, dunno.
I also know they are available from Auto Zone and Advance so check them before you purchase.

Advanced Auto States: Exact Fit for your 1969 Dodge Charger R/T

BUT they state that it DOES NOT fit a 1968!

Besides two Auto Zone stores state that their supplier is out of stock.

Yeah, I seem to remember the fellows with first gens saying similar but they could be made to work.  I do not remember what the differences were.  Ground tab, the connector to hold the wire out of the way ... something that was quite usable but different visually.
Only way to get the exact one you need is buy an NOS OR used one.

The AC switches appear to be missing most of its parts.
