Nvrbdn, it's not out of financial need.  But at my age I don't need to be worried about damage or theft of a car any more.  Working on it isn't fun to me any more.  My shop has been full of everything Charger related to the point of not being able to do anything in there that isn't automotive in nature.  I've been having a ball on a new ATV lately and am discovering things I want to do on the property while I still can.  A lot of stuff in my head that I want to do yet.  The Charger has been great friend, but it's time has come to an end.  The years go by like months at this age.....

ha ha, that's funny because I just picked up this thing just before deer season when I got rid of the bike. absolutely love riding it. so I see what you mean. :2thumbs:

Reading this thread I can't really relate, then again I'm 25.
A 68 charger should be the last thing you sell and not the first.
Especially if its not even a money thing. Maybe take it for a cruise or drive before you make the final decision.

LOL! At 25 I surly would have said the same thing.  I'll be cruising quite a bit this final season like I have been with this car for over fifteen years.  You reach a point in life of diminishing returns.  If I find myself not able to cope with life without a '68 Charger, then I'll just buy another one.  I'm old enough to have the means to do that....

Good luck, your charger is beautiful and will make a new owner proud when you let it loose. Yeah the car shows and cruise in's get old which I don't participate much anymore myself but I still enjoy driving it and working on it. Just turning 40 i'm still excited to even own one. It is a constant worry of it getting damaged or stolen and i'm sure over time that does get old!!

I bought the Charger back in '97 to restore back to what I had new in '68.  It's been a great ride all these years and has certainly fulfilled my original expectations of renewed youthful spirit when on the road with it.  But, there are only so many car shows and cruises that you can participate in before it all starts getting old.  I've come to the realization recently that my obsession with this CAR has gotten in the way of many other things that I want to accomplish in my life.  Not big things, I'm happy with my overall achievements, but just stuff I should have been doing on the house and acreage. Time is catching up with me and there are other things that I want to get done.  I guess all I'm saying here is that I will most likely sell it after this upcoming season.  I will stick around here though........

Sounds as though you've had some good times with your Charger but now the passion is gone, and it's time to move on. Good luck with whatever it is you choose to do.
