First I want to start off by saying thank you to Bryan (A383Wing) for his help, and answering my 'PM' questions about his radiator swaps. Also, thank you to everyone who responded to my original "aluminum radiator" thread.

For the last 3+ weeks, i've Been trying to find a replacement for the radiator on my 1968 Charger, 440, 4-speed (originally 383, auto), with 22" radiator.

After a bunch of research and coordination with one aluminum radiator company the fell through (they were very accommodating, but ultimately couldn't fulfill my requests), I finally settled on:

Champion 26", 3-core radiator.

Now, I'm looking for a shroud. My existing mechanical fan is 17.25" diameter.

I see this shroud http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dcc-2785434/overview/

It states that it will fit a '68 Charger 440, but for a 16" fan diameter. Looks like the fan opening is too small.

I also see this shroud http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dcc-2998326/overview/model/charger

It states a 20.25" fan opening, but its for 70-73 years per the Summit site.

Any recommendations? What reproduction/aftermarket fan have you guys used before on this (or similar) setup?

Thank you, Chris

Chris , good choice on the radiator ,
I'm using the same , made so it will bolt up stock shroud ,
I used a rpm rated flex fan on mine to get the right size diameter,
You might need the side part of middle radiator suport that increases opening to fit that 26" inch opening,
I did away with the clutch fan
That radiator , even though its a large three core , I think it's equivalent to a four row,
I'm running the 7 blade stock cast water pumpwith anti cavitation plate, factory item , perfect
See cooling thread to do with water pump testing book marked on here,
I did have an alloy after market  water pump and it was half the problem
Check summits fans sizes , that's what I did  :2thumbs:

Thank you for the info.

Did you use the "side part of middle radiator support" on your car? Photos? I see there's an aftermarket/reproduction piece that can be welded in to expand the opening. Is that what you used?

My current plan is to cut the stock 22" opening wider on the passenger side and drill the passenger side radiator support holes to fit the radiator.

I have a 4 row champion and shroud,  couldn't be happier

On the Champion I purchased, the inlet is upper driver's side, which differs from the stock location on the 22". Motor is a 440.

Is your configuration similar? If yes, what upper radiator hose did you use?

Yes Chris that's the part , welded in to expand the opening for the 26"
Stock hoses for a 440 should fit ,
Inlet drivers , outlet passenger side

This weekend, ended up cutting the radiator support opening to be wider on the passenger side. Turned out pretty good. I'll be posting photos soon. Also, went to the local auto parts stores and picked up a couple radiator hoses. Although, the upper hose will have to be  "universal"  since there was no way their stock 440 hose was going to line up correctly.
