Where to mount ignition ECU

I have the Mopar Performance electronic ignition.  I'd like to hide the ECU somewhere on my 1968 Charger as this is an otherwise stock looking vehicle.  won't fit under battery tray due to vacuum canister.  Any ideas?

It looks to be a very slick piece, and if you were to paint your ECU the same color as your engine, I think it would be hard to detect. Hope this helps.

That's sort of what I did. I didn't buy one of those brackets, I just made one out of some scrap sheet metal I had lying around. It mounts behind the back of the intake, so you really can't see it when looking under the hood, now the wires are running to it and if you look close enough from the side of the engine you can spot it if you know its there, but just a quick glance under the hood, you don't see it.

Thank you all for the suggestions. The back of the engine seems like a good idea, but isn't the heat and vibration from the engine an issue with an electronic device?

No. But another piece of advise from my experience.... toss the Mopar Performance ECU, go to Autozone and buy a Duralast ECU, they last a lot longer, have a lifetime warranty (when they do go bad), and only cost 20 bucks. Anytime I have used a MP ECU, it isn't too long before I have to replace it.

Thanks for the tip on the Duralast.
On another note, one thing I can tell you without a doubt, is electronic components are very susceptible to heat. We replace capacitors all the time because of heat.
All I'm saying is, it is something to consider.

I've tried just about all the available ecu's and had them all go bad (maybe its the heat  )

  got one of these "hi-rev" ecu's off rick eberg and haven't looked back, now have them in all my cars

Mounting it on the rear of the engine with the bracket keeps the ECU surprisingly cool...air flow under intake promoted a nice cooling effect

put mine in front of the core support , too keep it cool !   can just see it in this picture ,  let me know if you want a closer picture ...

moved the coil off the engine too , last year ,  , & put it on the inner fender to  keep it cooler , may well move it again later

I mounted my MSD under the dash to the front of the heater box. Out of site and away from the engine heat.
