440 oil pump

I pulled the oil pump off my RR, 440 block, last October and cant' remember if there should be a gasket between the housing parts or just between the main housing and block. 

If no gasket is required, I think I should still use a gasket compound.  Is that correct?

there is o-ring that sits in groove between the housing parts....do not use sealer between housings

gasket is between housing & block....

Actually there are two square-cut O rings between the cover and the main body.
