I would love to own it, but who has 40 grand to drop on a car and let it sit in a garage to preserve it.

Actually, why let it sit? This is by far, the best driving Charger that I have owned in decades. If one were to put a couple thousand miles or so on the car per year, there's no problem with that.

My sentiments exactly! I had 15 magnums on it when i was driving it,but yeah, I bet it drives great with those new tires and an alignment. I installed new lower control arm bushings, but never did get that alignment done......

I don't understand why it has not sold so quick considering all the praise that it has recieved so far. Are chargers falling in value ?

I don't think so ?
2 days left on bidding is bound to get interesting coming down to the wire.

Although a rare color combo, it may not be to some people's taste ? but also realizing the significance of it's "survivor" status, many might be hesitant to purchase knowing it potentially should be left alone, with limited ability for changes to suit.
just say'in....
some "Pidgeon Hole'ing" may be occurring relative to it being a more purist collector type status ?

Nonetheless,
$33,200. with 2 days left, and bound to go closer to $40K.... is still not bad for a 383 car.

NOT to diss the car in any way, it is most definately exceptional, but exceptional within a "range" as a 383 auto Car.... which IMO tops somewhere around the $40K mark.
premiums to pricing could allow for, depending upon Buyer.....
* 10-15% for Colors
* 10-15% for 4 spd
* 10% for SE and other options

just my opinions, no wars wanted, I just think it will spike around $37K to $38K at the wire.... or should anyways ?

Why does that quarter/bumper gap look funky to me? Just the angle?

The car either got backed into something or rear ended just light enough to flex the bumper into the quarter pocket and left behind a small dent , but the bumper flexed back or got replaced. I think it flexed myself.

I don't know why there is any issue with the colors myself. I love it!! When I was young, my uncle had 2 chargers. First was a dark green 68' R/T that he tried to kill us in. The second looked like this one and that car was GORGEOUS!!!! 440 auto with 8-track and road wheels. This car brings back some great memories..... I wish I had the cash to grab it..  :2thumbs:

Getting off track but did your uncle trying to kill you in the car have any influence on your desire to own fast Mopars?

Lord Warlock

with that one, I'd be driving it, not storing it for posterity, it will never reach the hemi valuation range, its a great driver and can absorb 20k miles and still be a new driver with low miles.  The kudos go to those who have preserved it so far, that one has been around if its in the snowy north now and was in florida before.  I wish you luck with your sale.  Its nice to see another y3/tan top combo out in the world.  Now if it can only make  the viewing public say to itself...that looks really sharp, I wish it was an RT or an RT SE....then my car's value goes up.  lol.  I think mines nice, that one looks new.

So far the Y3 R/T never ceases to draw a crowd at the pump..looks great in the sun too. If this car's pictures were taken in the sun it would pop against some green grass.

Fillin' her with avgas?      :scratchchin:

ACUDANUT

Speaking of AVGAS, Do they let you fill five gallon cans ?  What is the octane level ?

indreams84

I think supposedly 110 octane?....I heard if you go AV fuel, it should be 1 part jet fuel to 4 premium... at least that's what some dude with 572 Chevy Stroker told me at a show

NEVER use JET fuel !!!   that is high grade type diesel fuel with no lubricating properties.

Yeah, basically kerosene isnt it?  In general just dont take advice from the guy with the 572 Chevy stroker.

AVGAS available down here is 100LL or 100 octane LowLead and I am pretty sure they will not let you pump it directly into your car.  They MIGHT let you put it in 5 gallon containers but, I haven't really tried. My Charger has 11 to 1 true compression and it runs fine on premium pump gas but I always add a little Startron to the tank to help with the alcohol. You just cannot find pure gas down here unless it is race gas available at the dragstrip but, it is over $8.00 a gallon! Nothing but "up to 10% alcohol" gas around here at the pump as far as I know!

I really haven't calculated it but my gas mileage using pump-premium is probably around 5 to 6 MPG so, No need to burn up 7 to 8 gallons of gas just to pay $8.00 a gallon for race fuel!

ACUDANUT

Off topic, but I thought I'd chime in.

AVGAS is not jet fuel, people get these mixed up.  Your Cessna's 150-172 (props) as an example would use avgas.

indreams84

Yeah, I was kinda throwing some humor in w/ the jet fuel comment...I was a USAF crew chief and we used JP-8 fuel on our aircraft, no way in hell it would be appropriate for any car engine  :2thumbs:

ACUDANUT, me being retired from the aviation field, I did not even think that needed explaining but ..... probably does!  Kinda like the difference in cars/trucks that use either gas or diesel fuel.  Don't mix up the two when filling your tank!  Bad things will happen !

ACUDANUT

Well, yea never know.  :scratchchin:

Anyway, What's the bid up too ?
