Who knows, but it would make very little sense for the BBC to suspend him and pull the show unless they have a very good reason to. It is arguably one of the most popular tv shows in the world.

It would be a big mistake by the BBC if they fire him.

someone else would just grab him, he's not going to be out of work unless he wants to be   :Twocents:

myk

I heard he punched a producer, or something.

I dunno, I didn't care for the show anyway.  The idea of a bunch of cheeky, English car snobs prattling on and on about cars I'll never see, let alone drive never appealed to me.  The episodes where they paid the 2nd Generation Charger and the newer generation of Mustang a bunch of back-handed compliments was the last time I ever tried to watch their annoying show...

everyone to their own       I think its the best automotive "entertainment" out there at the moment

its the most popular automotive show in the world    :yesnod:

Clarkson Officially Fired From Top Gear

As far as I'm concerned...

The show is dead without him.

Just one more reason for me to take the satellite dish down and set it out for the trash.

The show had been going downhill since the late 00's. Lately, almost every episode (aside from the exotic location specials) was a variation of the "car vs. bicycle vs. boat" race across a city/small country, just done with different cars. I can't think of any episode in the last 5 or so years that is on par with or as memorable* as the English Channel car-boat conversion, or the space shuttle, or the Atom Ariel test drive.

If it is indeed coming to an end, it's barely gonna miss jumping the shark.

wonder if this will have any carry over effect on "top gear USA"

the BBC has just shot themselves in the foot   :yesnod:  he made top gear  the show it was

without him it  will be like the failed attempt to revive "two and a half men" without Charlie sheen ,  using that other "has been"   :Twocents:

look at how to carry on with top gear in 2016    "good luck with that  mate"

a dark day in automotive television  :'(

Probably none, though I believe there was a crossover episode between the two shows this season. Not sure if it aired yet, since I'm still a few episodes behind on watching TG UK. If it hasn't aired, maybe it will be part of the next TGUSA season.

Maybe this is a good thing. Like I said in my last post, the show hadn't been what it once was. One of those things where everyone knew it was dragging on too long but didn't know quite how to end it because of its immense popularity and its cash-cow status- this was a good excuse.

Either its gonna end for good and will to go out before it really sucks, or its an chance for the show to be redone with a new format and new hosts and at least give it an opportunity to get a new lease on life. As James May said, "It wouldn't be the first time".

so      oisin tymon      ( the guy who killed top gear )

will be a welcome guest at  BBC Christmas party's this year won't he  :scratchchin:

this will be one of those make or break moments in his life , either he will get heaps of work for being that  guy who stood up to Clarkson or he will be a pariah that will just drop off the face of the earth working for a weather report in Uzbekistan .

                                                                               I'm hoping the second     :flame:

dude, don't blame the poor guy. if you were physically attacked and injured by a co-worker or a 'higher up' you probably wouldn't just let it go, no matter who it is. Im sure the last thing he wanted to do was "kill Top Gear" - now he's out of a job. Besides, looks like its all a moot point because the BBC report says that Clarkson himself reported the incident.

I think "jezza" was expecting them to show the producer the door for disagreeing with the "star"   :yesnod:

since it happened I've been waiting for an announcement saying jezza has an "age related illness" if you know what I mean  :scratchchin:

sux which ever way you look at it , been watching top gear  for 20+years  it  is my favourite "automotive show "

I can't feel bad about this, not for Clarkson anyway.  The guy is a total douche, always has been.  Top Gear used to be the best thing on TV but I haven't seen anything even close to that caliber for many seasons now so I'm absolutely fine with it going bye bye.

just saw a(live) interview with May where he said they were a "package" and had a unique demographic and it would be "lost if they try to replace                   Clarkson  "   and that  the future of top gear was in doubt   :yesnod:

he went on to say   any offers without Clarkson would have to be thought about "long" and" hard"  :scratchchin:

he    then expressed his regret that a "minor" altercation that should and would have been" dealt with internally and  in private "  was made public by oisin  going to the casualty dept ( therefore making the hospital report the assault )after he had been seen to by BBC staff(first aid) already.  seems young  oisin  had an axe to grind  after all   :scratchchin:

Clarkson being a "dick" was what he got hired for and what makes the show (they have said it hundreds of times )   :yesnod:    can't fault the guy for it (temperamental "stars" and all that ) ,although some might .

doubt we'll see a new top gear any time soon  :'(

they are working on finishing the last shows in this series with footage already filmed with Jeremy    :yesnod:

seems like a tossup at the moment between Steven fry    :scratchchin:        and Jodie kidd     :drool5:    as the "new presenter "
