Just got my dash back from Instrument Specialties Inc.  I think they did a pretty good job!

I don't think you'll get any better than that.

I'm not much into stock dashes, but your unit is beautiful...

Looks very nice.   Thanks for posting.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Charger-Bodie

They do awesome work. I had them do a cluster once, and turned out as good or better than new.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior

That looks lovely!  The usual questions: how long did they take and how much did they charge you?

First I want to thank everyone for their comments......It took 7 months and it was expensive. The radio is actually AM/FM/MP3 now. In my opinion money well spent.

Correct in many ways.  I have used Instrument specialties as well.  They are not cheap but the quality and performance are the top in the industry.  That is a one time deal and you won't have a worry about the dash again.  Dash looks beautiful!

Hey Creston, did they also rework the pads??  Actually, yours look pretty good in the old pic.

 :iagree:

The new dash is just unbelievable, but the old dash sure looks like it's in great shape too!

Great setup!  :2thumbs:

Both the price and the time-down would be a significant hurdle for me. I'm kicking myself just a bit as just a few years ago, I had a neighbor nearby who had a project car ('68 R/T clone) that he'd been working on for some time (he followed me home one day to look at my car) He had a completely rebuilt dash (much like the one shown here) that he had planned to install, but......his wife changed all that with baby number 1, followed quickly by baby number 2.  Before I even knew about it, he'd sold the dash dirt cheap (like $1,500) and then the rest of the car followed shortly thereafter. He was an airline pilot who already had very little time, and the two bambinos ended the car game for him, probably for good.

So for the estimated price stated in this thread what work was actually performed. I'm assuming the gage cluster was done but what else. The OP's pics show an entire dash. Was this whole unit delivered ready for installation. Just curious what was refurbished for the price.

The entire dash was gone over and everything was either refurbished or replaced , right down to the cigarette lighter. The radio was upgraded from AM to AM/FM/MP3.  Dash is plug and play!  Hope this clears things up!

For the first generation owners, here is a picture from Instrument Specialties' website (unit is in transit) of the gauges and bezel only.  I didn't send them the full dash.

Ghoste

That is one thing I do miss about my 67, those gauges at night were pretty cool to look at.

Yep. there are a lot of really cool features on those cars.

One day one of those may end up in my garage and it will be that damn dash that sold it.

Instrument Specialties quoted me $5000.00-$5500.00 to restore my 68 R/T dash. They told me the price could vary depending on the condition of the dash once they look at it. Its a lot of money for a dash restoration, but they really look nice.

The dash pads are repos or recovered, you can tell by lack of stitching.
