Been working on polishing trim (holy crap there is a lot!) and assembling doors and some interior work. It is finally together enough I was able to take it out for a test drive to the gas station to see how it did.

First is the door up stops. The rubber at the top was shot as usual. Found that large adhesive lines shrink tube works perfect for this. Think I used 1 1/4 ID shrink tube. Put 2 pieces on each one. It will shrink down to about 1/2 inch and gets thicker the more it shrinks. Put one piece on and let it cool completely so the adhesive dries, then put the other piece on.

Soaked the passenger seat tracks in evaporust for a day, here is how they came out. I repainted the yellow springs, scuffed the tracks up and repainted them, lubed the tracks up and bolted them to the seat.

Carpet and console installed. Need to tuck the wiring up and fasten it in place under the dash

I did not think of using Heat shrink tubing as a "bumper". I used some left over heater hose.

Since the late 80's, wow. Looks great, last time I drove my 72 was back in 1992 I can't even remember the feeling anymore.

I agree. Those wheels are a great addition to the car.

Looks great....cant wait to be filling mine up for the first time....which, due to UK fuel prices, will coincide with the day I remortgage my house :smilielol:. But hell, it will be worth it.

Got the original door panels out and started doing minor fixes to them before installing them. The front and back edge of the vinyl was starting to come unglued where it fold over. Other than that they are in great condition for being almost 50 years old.
